Adding Categories in Zen Cart.

We assume that you have already logged into Zen Cart.
Click on the Catalog link found on the main menu as shown below..

Then click on Categories/Products link like the one below.

You will see a list of categories in this list, let’s go ahead and add one category. At the bottom of the category list you will find a button which says new category, new product, as shown below.

Click on new category button. In the screen that loads you will be prompted to enter the category name and the category description, etc., as shown below.

You will also see a category image box. You may optionally upload an image for the new category. This will display next to the category name when your visitor is on the category page.

In the upload to directory box, select categories, and in the sort order box, specify where you want this category to display in the list of categories displayed on your page “0” would represent top of the list. One you are done with this page click the save button to save the category.
You will see the new category you just added is displayed on the top of the list. You can also see the new category you just added is displayed in your store.
That’s it, you now know how to add a category in Zen Cart.
