How to backup and restore your database in osCommerce

Assuming you’ve already logged into osCommerce application, let’s now learn how to backup and restore your database in osCommerce. In the screen Choose an action,

the right column 4th menu item which says Tools, click on the backup link, it will take you to a different screen which says Database Backup Manager,

this is where you can backup and restore your database in osCommerce, on the right you can see two buttons namely backup and restore, click on backup button, a popup appears which says do not interrupt the backup process which might take a couple of minutes, click on the backup button below, That’s it, the database has been backed up with an extension .sql.  Now let’s try restoring the database, on the extreme right side of the page you can see a button called restore,

click on it, again a popup appears which says do not interrupt the restoration process, once again click on the restore button.

That’s it, the database has been restored; now you know how to backup and restore your database in osCommerce.
