How to add product categories to your store in osCommerce

Assuming you’ve already logged into osCommerce application, let’s now learn how to add product categories to your store in osCommerce. In the screen choose Catalog action, click on it,

You will see a screen like this below,

A list of existing categories is listed above, click on new category,lets go ahead and add another category from the new category box which is displayed at the right side of the screen, like this one below, enter the name of the new category here, lets say you enter Books, enter an image or optionally click the browse button to locate the image file from the category images, then click save button.

That’s it, the category Books has been created and can be seen in the Categories / Products listing as seen below

Click Books to view the category we just created, you will get a new screen like this below, here you can also create sub-categories, lets go ahead and do that now.

Click new category button, you will be prompted to enter details of new category on the right side of the screen as shown in pic3, enter the name of the sub-category, enter the category image, or optionally click the browse button to locate the image file from the category images, then click save button.
That’s it, a new sub-category has been created under the category Books. You can create as many categories and sub-categories as you wish.
You now know how to add categories and sub categories to your store in osCommerce.
