Set up a Web Site in Dreamweaver

Section 1. Set up a Web Site.

Open Dreamweaver on your computer, to create a new site double click on the dreamweaver site on the create new column of your start page.

  • The first step is to create a company site name example: xyz company, go to next.
  • The next step is to decide whether to use a server technology or not, for the time being skip this step and go to the next step
  • Next step is to edit the files locally or directly, double click on the xyz company name on your folder to save all your files here
  • press select to go back to the wizard
  • press next to go to the next step
  • then to decide to connect to the remote server, since we have chosen to edit files locally select none from the combo box, then you can view the summary of your setting.

You can see the xyz company has been added to your files panel on the right hand side of your screen,

Let’s add our first file to the site.

  • Press new and press html from the basic page section
  • press create
  • you must save the file to index.html and save the file
  • you can see the file created under the xyz company folder on the right side.
